José A. Belo is a graduate from the 1st Gulbenkian PhD Program in Biology and Medicine. He conducted his thesis at UCLA, USA, under the guidance of Eddy De Robertis, where he developed his passion for Developmental Biology. This led him to his current interests which are the causative molecular mechanisms of Cardio-Vascular Disease (CVD) and their regulation to pursue new therapies and therapeutic targets. We aim to understand the role of exosomes in this context, using iPSC-derived 3D cardiac organoid models (cardioids).
