He firmly believes that extracellular vesicles, specifically exosomes, represent the emerging regulators of organismal function, akin to what hormones have been traditionally recognized for. His studies delve into the processes that determine how cargo is selected and loaded into exosomes, and how to observe and describe the communication between different tissues and organs facilitated by these vesicles, such as from the brain to the liver or liver to muscle.
