NOVA Clinical Research Unit - NOVA CRU

NOVA Clinical Research Unit (NOVA CRU) is an academic CRO (Contract Research Organization), providing clinical research management services at NOVA University Lisbon. It was set up as a joint venture between NOVA Medical School | Faculty of Medical Sciences (where it was born) and NOVA Information and Management School.

Its mission is to provide professional support for the execution of clinical studies on the initiative of both the researcher and industry, in accordance with national and international legislation, the Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GCP) and ISOs 14155 and 20916.

NOVA CRU has 2 units: Clinical Research Management and Study Coordination, directly in the hospitals. The former is a full-service CRO, working from the initial study design to the development of the Final Report. The second is currently distributed between ULS Lisboa Ocidental and ULS Arrábida.

This CRO also belongs to PtCRIN (Portuguese Clinical Research Infrastructure Network) and promotes its international links through ECRIN (European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network). In addition, it has already participated, and continues to participate, in various European proposals through the formation of Consortia with various entities, both at European and international level.
