International Doctoral Programme in Health Sciences

 

 

The New Doctoral Program aims to be a national and international reference of righ quality in Health Sciences, stimulating the development of high quality research projects at international level, promoting interdisciplinarity in this vast and important area of study, talking advantage of the existing skills and resources of excellence for its research guidelines: Chronic Diseases and Aging; Population Health and Nutrition; New Cellular and Molecular Therapies.

The cycle of studies leading to the degree of Doctor of Health Sciences enables training based on research and the development of complementary skills in the areas of medicine, biomedicine and related scientific and technological areas, privileging the inter and multidiciplinary to scientific issues with an impact on humam health, having as main foundation the research perfomed at NMS Research, from fundamental biomedical research, to, translational, clinical and epidemiological.

The PhD in Health Sciences can be carried out in the following specialities: Medicine and Biomedicine.

The Essence of the program is to contribute to the formation of excellence in these scientific areas of recognized merit, and considered strategic for the scientific and technological development of NMS, promoting synergies and maximizing the complementarity of the existing technical and methodological resources, reinforcing collaboration between basic and clinical science. In this context, the student in the ambit of his project will be the catalyser for this strategy, being integrated into a Commuty of Researchers.

Undergraduate or integrated master’s degree, or legal equivalent in Medicine or other health sciences areas.

Applications that meet the admission requirements will be analyzed, evaluated, selected and graded by the jury, through a Curriculum analysis and after an individual interview with each candidate.

Fees: 2750€/year (15% discount for current and former students and NMS Professors/Assistants/Researchers).

Non-Bursary Contest: May 1-31, 2024

Scholarship competition: August 1-20, 2024
