NOVA Medical School, in partnership with the Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional de Lisboa e Vale do Tejo, I.P. (CCDR LVT, I.P.), is promoting the conference “Sustainable Development Goals: Impact, Equality and Innovation” on March 25, which will take place in the Sala dos Actos, between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm.
This meeting aims to highlight the fundamental role of sustainable development, with a special focus on Gender Equality and the Promotion of Health and Well-Being. The program will be dynamic and diverse, including round tables, debates and the sharing of success stories that reflect the real impact of the SDGs on our society.
The opening session will feature a speech by the Director of NOVA Medical School, Helena Canhão, who will highlight the importance of innovation in the health sector, and the President of CCDR LVT, I.P., Teresa Almeida, who will discuss the role of social innovation networks in the Lisbon Smart Specialization Strategy.
The program also includes a round table dedicated to the results and opportunities of the cooperation network for innovation in the SDGs, with the participation of the Vice-President of the Board of the General Assembly and SEIES Cooperative, Isabel Rebelo, the Coordinator of the Portuguese Hub for Sustainable Development and Social Innovation, Susana Albuquerque and the Guest Assistant Professor ENSP-NOVA, Carolina Santos.
There will also be a panel on the opportunities for collaborative innovation in the “Social Prescription Portugal” initiative, presented by the Director of the National School of Public Health, Sónia Dias, and a special intervention by the retired Professor of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon, João Ferrão, who will reflect on the challenges and future paths for the implementation of the SDGs in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region.
The event will close with a panel dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship for the 2030 Agenda, with the participation of representatives from relevant sectors of the business and innovation ecosystem, Isabel Advirta and Pedro Cruz.
