The Estoril Conferences '24 brought together more than 4,600 participants and 80 speakers (national and international) at Nova SBE's Carcavelos Campus on October 24 and 25. A clear demonstration of the relevance of the initiative which, year after year, positions itself as one of the main global events focused on debating current national and international issues, as well as promoting solutions to contemporary challenges.
With a diverse program and record attendance, this year's Estoril Conferences exceeded all expectations, both in person and online. During the two-day event, the number of in-person participants reached 3,488 people who attended the papers, panels and discussions of some of the world's most prominent experts, activists, academics, scientists, managers and opinion leaders. The global audience, augmented by online streaming (which brought together 1,121 virtual participants), reached 4,609 people over the two days of the event.
The Estoril Conferences '24 were attended by more than 80 speakers (both national and international) and it is worth highlighting the presence of numerous global leaders who, around the theme of Time to Rethink, joined experts in sustainability, economics, academics and young entrepreneurs to discuss topics such as climate change, the promotion of peace on a global scale, gender equality and the future of technology.
The importance of the event was also revealed by the strong presence of the media: with more than 65 journalists (national and international) attending and contributing their work to increase knowledge and raise global awareness of the topics covered.
Organized by Nova SBE and NOVA Medical School, this year's Estoril Conferences had, for the first time, the partnership of Harvard's Digital Data Design Institute (D^3), a prestigious institute dedicated to studying the impact of new technologies on the world and on business, which was part of the team co-organizing the event with Cascais City Council and Turismo de Portugal.
