The Health Communication curricular unit is, for the second year running, open to all health students in the country, addressing one of the main challenges facing health systems in the 21st century.
The structure of the curricular area combines practical and theoretical-practical approaches, providing a dynamic and up-to-date learning experience that emphasizes the application of the concepts studied, but also stimulates active student participation, encouraging critical reflection and debate.
With renowned guests on the national scene, the training in Health Communication is coordinated by Professor Francisco Goiana da Silva, a consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO) and former member of the Executive Board of the National Health Service, and Professor Alexandra Bento, Coordinator of the Food and Nutrition Department of the Dr. Ricardo Jorge National Health Institute, and includes topics such as Crisis Communication, Health Literacy, Political Communication, Strategic Marketing/Health Communication Campaigns, Social Networks and new formats for Health Communication and Disinformation, among others.
Speakers include Álvaro Beleza, President of SEDES; Daniel Sampaio, Emeritus Professor at FMUL; Maria de Belém Roseira, former Minister of Health; or Margarida Santos, from ULS São José, who will share their experience and best practices in these areas.
The full brochure can be found here (registrations are closed).
Attendance is free and students who are not studying for a degree in Nutritional Sciences at NOVA Medical School will be issued with a Certificate of Participation that can be added to their diploma, subject to a final assessment.
