The NMS opened this year's season of events in the best way with the Investiture Ceremony of the Governing Bodies of the AENMS for the 2023 Mandate, which took place in the Sala dos Atos, on the 5th of January.
Attending the ceremony were several internal and external personalities who did not want to fail to pay homage both to the team of the Student Association that ceased functions and which was led by the 6th year student of the Master Degree in Medicine, Afonso Andrade, and to the team that now took office and whose President is MIM 5th year student Maria Vaz.
Among those present were the Director of the NMS, Professor Helena Canhão, members of the School's Management and community, the President of the Southern Regional Council of the Doctor´s Order, Doctor Alexandre Valentim Lourenço, the Secretary General of the Independent Doctors' Union , Doctor Jorge Roque da Cunha, the President of the General Directorate of the Academic Federation of Lisbon, João Machado, the Treasurer representing the President of the Directorate of the Associação Desportiva do Ensino Superior de Lisboa, Maria Inês Neves, the President of the Directorate of the National Association of Medical Students, Vasco Lemos and the Vice-President of the National Association of Nutrition Students, Alexandre Rodrigues, among others.
After the outgoing President's very emotional speech, it was the new President's turn to present the general lines that guided her candidacy and will guide the work of the entire team during the next year, where issues related to the well-being of the students of the NOVA Medical School, whether in terms of teaching, but also in terms of experience and personal development. The idea of a permanent and strong collaboration with the institution in the pursuit of these objectives was also very clear in her speech, having already been highlighted in the speech of the Director of the School.
NMS thanks all the work and collaboration of the previous team and wishes the best successes to the new Board of the now named Associação de Estudantes da NOVA Medical School (AENMS).
