Marcelo Mendonça is a Neurologist and Neuroscientist with an interest in Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders. Besides providing specialized care for people living with movement disorders, he has been using animal models of disease to study motor circuits function and dysfunction in Parkinson's Disease and Dystonia. The study of these circuits can inspire the discovery of new targets and fine-tune the currently available tools for invasive and non invasive brain stimulation - a major need to reduce the high burden of these disorders. Marcelo has been teaching Neuroscience, Neurology and Pain at NMS since 2014 at under, graduate and postgraduate levels.
