Eva Carvalho and Inês Carmona Costa, medical students at NOVA Medical School, received an honorable mention in the XVI NOVA Photography Contest, an initiative that, on the 50th anniversary of April 25, 1974, challenged the student community to reflect on the meaning of freedom and how it manifests itself.
For this competition, in which 70 contestants and 162 photographs took part, Eva and Inês submitted the photographs "The weapons of freedom" and "Final Glow", respectively.
The first prizes were awarded to Tristão Quiroga, from NOVA FCSH, with "Portugal Novo", Manuel Estriga, from NOVA SBE, with "Sentir a liberdade 3" and Federica Sovereign, from NOVA SBE, with "Skies over silent waters".
The awards ceremony took place on May 8th at the Rectory on the Campolide Campus.
