Cycle of Nutrition Workshops empowers people with metabolic diseases

The 2nd edition of the Cycle of Workshops on Nutrition and Food Intervention in Hereditary Protein Metabolism Diseases took place at NOVA Medical School's Kitchen Lab between November 18, 2023 and June 22, 2024.

The main aim of the five 'hands on' sessions was to enable family members and individuals with Hereditary Protein Metabolism Diseases to become autonomous in the preparation and cooking of different healthy meals adapted to the pathology, led by chef Fábio Bernardino and Professor Júlio César Rocha.

This is an initiative of NOVA Medical School, together with APOFEN and Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Central, focused on the mission of acting in the community, with repercussions on the quality of life of the population, acting in different areas and pathologies.

The 5 themed sessions brought together around 55 people in person and more than 2000 online, through live broadcasts on YouTube, which are available here.
