Medicine and literature share the same paradox: the need to need to distance themselves and, at the same time, come closer together to understand the value of human life. This relationship, which has been increasingly thought about since the 1980s, through the century through the disciplinary area of Narrative Medicine, focuses on the development of the doctor's literary literary sensibility. By reading and interpreting literary literary texts, this approach shows how literature can, effectively help the doctor in his relationship with the Other and with himself and self and be an effective means of humanization.

In this session, participants will be invited to reflect on reactions, emotions and feelings based on the interpretation of selected literary excerpts, exploring and deepening the emotional and affective dimension of reading. Finally, a a brief systematization of Narrative Medicine.
