NOVA Medical School Professor André Rosário won the 1st Prize in the category of Best Oral Communication at the 2nd Portuguese Congress of Lifestyle Medicine, an event that took place between May 27 and 29, 2024, in Porto.
The research paper, entitled "Food Literacy Intervention for Blood Pressure Reduction: Randomized Clinical Trial Comparing Effectiveness", evaluated the effectiveness of two training approaches for reducing blood pressure.
On the one hand, it evaluated an intervention based on food literacy, focused on reducing salt intake, versus a comprehensive program to adopt healthy lifestyles, including the Mediterranean diet, physical activity, quality sleep and hydriation.
The Portuguese Lifestyle Medicine Congress is an outstanding event that brings together national and international experts to discuss and promote health practices based on scientific evidence. Its aim is to provide a comprehensive overview of lifestyle medicine practices.
