There is an open call for applications for a Research Grant (BI), for the conduct of R&D activities by a PhD student, under reference SAI/2022/08 in the scope of the project HHMI/208581Z/17/Z, at the institution Faculdade de Ciências Médicas|NOVA Medical School (FCM|NMS) from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (UNL), supported by income from the above mentioned project financed by The Wellcome Trust Limited.

Admission requirements (eligibility criteria):
- Master's degree completed in Biology, Biochemistry, Health Sciences and related areas;
- Enrolment in a PhD, in the area of Biomedicine or related fields; (The Proof of enrolment in a PhD Degree could be obtained until contracting. The assessment made here will only take into account if the candidates meet the conditions for enroling in a PhD Degree.);
- Candidates must demonstrate prior experience working with Drosophila melanogaster.
Work plan:
The candidate will develop and execute a research plan to investigate how hormonal signaling and inter-organ communication regulate brain development in the Drosophila melanogaster animal model.
The candidate is expected to participate in the writing of scientific articles and reports.
