CHRC is a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional and comprehensive research centre aimed at supporting, developing and fostering clinical, public health and health services research. The other CHRC pillars and central activities are health education and training; innovation, digital and entrepreneurship.
The mission of CHRC is to produce scientific evidence to improve current clinical practice, health policy and healthcare services organization through 5 thematic lines: (i) Health Promotion; (ii) Lifestyles in Healthcare; (iii) High burden and high mortality diseases; (iv) Health policies and healthcare services research; (v) Health innovation.
CHRC is led by NMS and its other management units are: National School of Public Health (ENSP); Évora University; Hospital de Santo Espírito, Terceira Island, Azores; Lisbon Institute of Global Mental Health.
