NOVA Medical School offers two areas with daily meal service: the Canteen (located next to the Anatomical Theatre) and the Sant’Ana Bar (next to the main school building).

For greater convenience, several microwaves are also available in the Canteen and on the 1st floor of the Library, which can be used to heat your meals.

Canteen Access Conditions

Access to the NOVA Medical School Canteen is granted to:

NOVA Medical School students, upon presentation of a valid student card, benefiting from a subsidized price provided by NOVA Medical School;
Faculty, researchers, and/or staff of NOVA;
Other users, provided they have the proper authorization from NOVA Medical School.

Price List

Social meal (Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students): €3.00
Meal for faculty and non-faculty staff: €5.50

A full meal includes: main dish, soup, bread, drink, and dessert.

At the Bar/Cafeteria, prices are set freely.

In accordance with Law No. 71/2017 of August 16, published in the 2nd series of the Diário da República, which sets the amount at 0.63% of the Social Support Index (IAS), and with Ordinance No. 421/2023 of December 11.

Closure of Facilities

The dining areas are closed during non-teaching periods, namely during the Christmas, Carnival, Easter, and Summer holidays (for short periods).
The specific closure dates are always communicated at least 15 days in advance to the academic community and the Student Association.

Meal Alternatives

Through the Social Services of NOVA University Lisbon, NOVA Medical School students also have access to other university canteens, which provide balanced meals at affordable prices.
