LISBOA2030 Awards Over €1.5 Million to NOVA Medical School for Three Scientific Initiatives

31-Mar-2025

NOVA Medical School has secured over €1.5 million in funding from the LISBOA2030 2024-15 Program for Infrastructures and Scientific Equipment, supporting three cutting-edge initiatives: HubP2C, Biobanco.PT@LIS, and FlxFlow.

HubP2C (Pre-Clinical to Clinical Hub) is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at accelerating the development and maturation of technological innovations for clinical application. The project achieved the highest score among 26 eligible submissions, earning an impressive 4.850 out of 5. As part of this initiative, 10 new professionals will be hired to strengthen key areas, including the Animal House, NOVACRU, the Histology Unit, and the Innovation and Value Creation Office.

Additionally, NOVA Medical School also played a key role in two other funded projects developed in collaboration with Lisbon-based institutions:

  • Biobanco.PT@LIS - National Network of Biobanks - Lisbon Node
  • FlxFlow - Center in Lisbon for Advanced Applications of Spectral Flow Cytometry

With a 36-month timeline, these projects will significantly enhance NOVA Medical School’s technological infrastructure, with several state-of-the-art equipment and further strengthening Lisbon’s position as a hub for scientific and medical innovation.

This remarkable achievement – announced earlier this year - was made possible by the dedication and collaboration of numerous scientific and staff teams. Congratulations to everyone involved!

The LISBOA2030-2024-15 Program aims to support projects that promote the development and strengthening of scientific and technological research infrastructures and equipment in the region. It seeks to stimulate a high value-added economy, as well as excellence, cooperation, and internationalization, fostering innovation processes with market-oriented purposes and increasing knowledge creation to address business and societal challenges.
