On November 15, 2025, the Rectorate Auditorium of NOVA University Lisbon hosted the Jubilation Lecture of Professor Jaime da Cunha Branco, an occasion that brought together the academic community to honour a career defined by dedication to medical education, research, and public service.
The session, titled “Espaço de Recordações, Culto de Emoções” (A space of memories, a cult of emotions) offered an intimate reflection on the experiences and lessons that accompanied the Professor throughout several decades of professional activity.
In his speech, Professor Jaime da Cunha Branco shared a personal testimony, recalling those who guided him along his path in Medicine and emphasising the importance of learning to observe, question, and develop independent thinking.
The celebration of his retirement marked the impact he had on successive generations of doctors and health professionals, recognizing a life guided by rigor, scientific curiosity, and an unwavering commitment to patients and the community.
