The “Creative Eye: Visions Beyond the Visible” Art Exhibition, on display until October 11, is an exhibition dedicated to blind and low-vision people, with works by artists Zélia Évora and Leonor Carvalho, and with scientific images that won the “Scientific Image in Vision” competition, created by NOVA Medical School students.
Zélia Évora presents three-dimensional works, with mixed techniques, available for tactile exploration, whose central element is the eye wrapped in different materials and textures, symbolizing different states of mind.
Leonor Carvalho's works speak to us about the coldness of digital interactions, questioning the technology that often obscures vision, the uniqueness of each thought, feeds the constant surveillance and invasion of privacy, in a race of emotional emptiness.
The works challenge us to reconsider the nature of our interactions in a world that is increasingly global, but not for this reason more supportive.
The exhibition with subtitles in Brille will be on display at the NMS Research Center at Rua Câmara Pestana, 6 - 1150-082 Lisboa, until October 11, from 9am to 7pm.
The works are available for purchase by contacting the artists directly.
