The Lisbon Institute of Global Mental Health is launching the project “Peer Support Agent - a new professional role for people with mental illness”, on October 21, between 3pm and 5:30pm, at NOVA Medical School's Manuel Machado Macedo Auditorium.
This project is part of the Capacitar 2024 Award, funded by the BPI “la Caixa” Foundation, with the aim of increasing the participation of people with mental illness in health and psychosocial rehabilitation services by developing certified Peer Support Agent training, which will serve as a basis for creating the profession in Portugal.
The event includes the presentation of experiences linked to Peer Workers and the associative movement of people with experience of mental illness, by national and international partners, followed by a general discussion and the project's next steps.
