NOVA Medical School invests in Health Communication

As part of the Study Plan for the Degree in Nutrition Sciences, the Health Communication course is, for the first time, open to all medical and nutrition students in the country, addressing one of the main challenges facing health systems in the 21st century.


With renowned guests on the national scene, the Health Communication course is coordinated by professors Alexandra Bento, Coordinator of the Food and Nutrition Department at the Dr. Ricardo Jorge National Health Institute, and Francisco Goiana da Silva, a member of the Executive Board of the National Health Service, and includes topics such as Crisis Communication, Health Literacy, Political Communication, Strategic Marketing/Health Communication Campaigns, Social Networks and new communication formats, Health Disinformation - Artificial Intelligence/Chat GPT and regulation, among others.


Speakers include Álvaro Beleza, Ana Paula Martins, Maria de Belém Roseira, Miguel Poiares Maduro, Dulce Salzedas, Diana Duarte, Carlos Daniel and Vera Lúcia Arreigoso, who will share valuable insights and best practices in these areas.

Prioritizing the school's relationship with society, on May 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:20 p.m., a class open to the community will be held on the theme "Disinformation in health - Artificial intelligence / GPT chat and regulation". The guests at this session are Cristina Fonseca (Indico Capital), Francisco de Abreu Duarte (The Legal Place) and João Guedes Marecos (WHO). The class will be held online.
