NOVA Medical School students took part in activities dedicated to World Kidney Day, celebrated on March 14 in the municipality of Alenquer, with the aim of raising awareness in the community about adopting healthy practices and lifestyles.
Chronic kidney patients had the opportunity to learn about a disease that affects 1 in 10 adults in Portugal, affecting around 10 percent of the world's population.
The program was the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Alenquer, the Vila Presépio Family Health Unit, the Association of Diabetics of the Municipality of Alenquer, NOVA Medical School and Fresenius Medical Care.
