The Dean of NOVA Medical School, Professor Helena Canhão, has been appointed President of the Ethics Committee for Clinical Research, an organisation that ensures the ethical protection of participants in clinical trials and medical research.
In addition to the Dean of NOVA Medical School, the Sub-Director for Teaching, Professor Nuno Neuparth, and Professors Lúcia Domingues and Pedro Póvoa were also appointed members of the Ethics Committee for Clinical Research.
In addition, Professor Helena Canhão was also appointed as a member of the Independent Technical Commission, whose mission is to evaluate and propose improvements for the Local University Health Units, reinforcing the integration between university hospitals, medical teaching and scientific research.
