On October 7, 2024, the construction of the Todos-os-Santos Hospital was officially launched, a historic milestone that will allow NOVA Medical School to have its own anchor hospital for the first time in 46 years.
This new hospital, scheduled for completion by 2027, will represent a significant improvement in the practical training of NOVA Medical School students. With the construction of this infrastructure, the faculty will complement its existing relationships with more than 25 associated health units, providing students with an even more comprehensive and modern clinical training experience.
The new Todos-os-Santos Hospital represents an important milestone in the transformation of the Medical School of the Future, which will also have a new campus in Carcavelos by the end of 2027, for the first two years of teaching, with new simulation centers, anatomical theater, more technology, self-study rooms, rooms for team-based learning.
According to the Director of NOVA Medical School, Professor Helena Canhão, “The new Medical School of the Future is an ambitious vision that reflects our commitment to innovation and excellence, preparing us to face the challenges of the future of health education and research.”
The combination of teaching and innovation, with a teaching staff made up of professionals active in clinical practice, has always been a commitment of NOVA Medical School, which will be strengthened with the Todos-os-Santos Hospital and the new Campus in Carcavelos, allowing the institution to continue to be at the forefront of medical training in Portugal and to establish itself as an international benchmark in research and healthcare provision.
