NOVA Hackathon seeks solutions for a more sustainable future in healthcare

NOVA Medical School, in partnership with AstraZeneca and NOWACE, announces the NOVA Hackathon 2024, with the theme “Reducing CO2 Emissions in Patient Care Pathways”.

Promoting solutions that can help reduce CO2 emissions in healthcare, which is one of the biggest challenges of our time, is the main objective of the NOVA Hackathon, an event being held under the Estoril Conferences umbrella.

This innovative initiative began with a Pre-Event on October 10th, at Casa Reynaldo dos Santos and Irene Virote Quilhó dos Santos, in Parede. This was the time for preparing the hackathon participants through strategic workshops, as well as for setting up the multidisciplinary teams. The NOVA Hackathon will take place on October 22 and 23 at the same venue, culminating in the award ceremony for the winning teams on October 25 on the main stage of the Estoril Conferences.

Open to all higher education students, with registrations here, the NOVA Hackathon is a unique opportunity for them to make a significant contribution to sustainability in the health sector and, at the same time, promote interdisciplinarity and innovation. In addition, the winning teams will have the opportunity to present their solutions on one of the most prestigious global discussion stages, the Estoril Conferences, and their ideas will be funded, along with mentoring programs during their implementation.

The event's Main Sponsor and Main Partner is AstraZeneca, a global biopharmaceutical company focused on science, which argues that the future depends on a healthy society, planet and people. Aware of the interconnection between these factors, AstraZeneca works in partnership with various organizations to build a more sustainable future.

NOVA Medical School is the Main Host, Main Partner and Project Manager of this initiative, which will be coordinated by Junior Empresa NOWACE, a partner and project coordinator.
