NOVA Medical School hosted the Nutrition 4.0 All Symposium, an initiative organized in partnership with Diaverum Portugal, which promoted debate on the role of nutrition in the prevention and management of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
The event brought together health professionals, patients, representatives of the food industry, restaurants, host institutions and academia, reinforcing the importance of an integrated approach to the challenges of CKD, with a special focus on nutritional literacy and therapeutic adherence.
One of the highlights of the symposium was the award ceremony for the winners of the Medcook Challenge 2025, which honored NOVA Medical School students for creating innovative, balanced recipes adapted to chronic kidney disease patients on hemodialysis.
The winners of this edition were:

5th place - LCN2: Catarina Baltazar, Margarida Raposo, Joana Murteira
The “MedCook Book” prototype was also presented, an e-book with recipes developed as part of the project, which aims to be a useful tool for nutritionists, caregivers and chronic kidney patients.
This initiative reflects NOVA Medical School's commitment to training geared towards social impact and more people-centered medicine.
