The scientific excellence of NOVA Medical School has once again been recognized internationally with the inclusion of several researchers in the World's Top 2% Scientists Ranking, compiled by Stanford University and considered one of the global benchmarks in assessing the impact of scientific output.
The ranking, which uses the Scopus database to analyze citations in 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields, distinguishes researchers in two dimensions: cumulative impact throughout their careers and impact measured only in the last year.
Four researchers from NOVA Medical School are included in the list that assesses the overall trajectory of scientific careers: Miguel Seabra, João Conde, and Winchil Vaz, as in the previous year, and Pedro Póvoa, who appears for the first time in the career impact category.
Among the most cited researchers of the last year, which reflects the most recent scientific output, NOVA Medical School is present with an even longer list of names than last year: Miguel Seabra, João Conde, Pedro Póvoa, Laura Helena Andrade, José Caldas de Almeida, Cândida Fonseca, Filomena Gomes, Frederico Gonçalves, Otília Vieira, Nuno Miguel Cardim, João Braz Gonçalves, and Raffaella Gozzelino.
Compared to previous years, the results show the consistent evolution and growing impact of the research carried out at NOVA Medical School, reinforcing the institution's role as a center of scientific excellence with a global impact.
