New edition of the Doctorate in Medicine focuses on excellence in research and interdisciplinarity

This week saw the beginning of the second edition of the Doctorate in Medicine at NOVA Medical School, a program that brings together candidates from various medical specialties, including Pediatrics, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Nephrology, Ophthalmology, among others.

Coordinated by Professor Ana Félix and co-coordinated by Professors Manuel Gonçalves Pereira and Bruno Heleno, the doctoral program combines clinical practice and research, offering an experience that combines clinical, fundamental, and translational research with studies in population health, innovation, and technology. The goal is to train professionals capable of developing original and impactful projects in various scientific areas.

The program also offers a flexible structure, allowing doctoral students to combine clinical activity with training and research, reinforcing the preparation of physicians for academic and research careers of excellence.
