From March 13 to 16, 2025, the 10th edition of Med On Tour comes to Alenquer, with the aim of promoting healthy habits, health education and free cardiovascular screenings for the local community.
This initiative, promoted by AENMS, is the result of a protocol established with Alenquer Town Council in 2018 and takes a group of NOVA Medical School students - more than 20 this year - under the supervision of a doctor, to carry out three types of screening for the town's population: body mass index, blood pressure and blood glucose.
- Training in Schools: Volunteers offer training on topics such as sexuality, nutrition, mental health and disease prevention
- Cardiovascular Screenings: The population will be able to undergo free screenings, such as blood pressure and blood glucose measurements
- Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles: The project raises awareness of the importance of a balanced diet and physical exercise.
With a growing impact over the years, Med On Tour reinforces the commitment of NOVA Medical School's medical students to promoting health in the community.
